Can my AM2 socket work with AM2+ processor?

Specs: Windows Vista, 2 GHz / 2045 MB
Hi, I plan on upgrading my processor to a AM2+ processor. It's a Phenom and it seems really good. My question is how do I know if it will work on my motherboard? I just upgraded my BIOS. But I can't find it anywhere on my computer and internet on how to find the BIOS compatibility with processors and types of processors. >:(. I really really want to know if my Motherboard is AM2+ compatible.

I got my computer in Christmas, 2007. And I just check for my computer and it had a BIOS update. So I downloaded it and installed it. But I don't know what difference does it make and etc. Please tell me :O.

The latest BIOS update was released on 2/19/2009. I'm preety sure thats recent :P.

P.S. Dell is being a bitch just because my Dell warranty expired. And won't tell me one simple thing. "If mobo works with AM2+ processor"...I got pissed -.-

Phenom isn't listed. The cpu may work or not. Why cpu upgrade?
