Solved Can I upgrade my CPU in my Gateway SX2855-UB10P?

October 4, 2012 at 12:36:38
Specs: Windows 7, Celeron G460/2GB
It currently has an Intel Celeron G460 1.8GHz CPU. The motherboard is an Acer Inc. H61H2-AD (V:1.0). The PSU is rated at 220W. I think I can cram an i3 in there but I was hoping that there might be an i5 match or an i7 (long shot;). Any info will help! Thanks!

Hey thanks! Looks like I'm not the only one trying to figure this out. I picked this computer up pretty cheap here locally so I might just get an i5 and test it out! Got to trade in some parts first to get some extra finds! Thanks again for your help! Never thought I'd get help so fast. Glad I registered and asked. Keep the info coming if you find more(everybody)! Ciao 4 now;)

U didn't bother reading the link i posted. The board is limited to 65W CPU's only and ivy bridge chip won't work. Try core i3 2100

What's the purpose of upgrading the CPU? Adding more RAM & a decent graphics card should come 1st. Unfortunately, the weak 220W PSU & the size of the case will limit the upgrade possibilities. This isn't a good base for building a gaming rig.
