I've been thinking of upgrading to a used Precision T3500. I've looked on wikipedia and pdf's and saw that it comes with either a Xeon 3500, 5500 or 5600 series. Which series is the best one? I'm assuming the 5600 series is the best one. And if so, anyone know which cpu in this series is the best one offered for this particular system?
I've been looking around and apparently it's the W3690 as it only supports up to 24gb of ram. The X5690 was designed for a dual cpu configuration as it supports up to 288gb ram. The dell precision t3500 is a single cpu config and supports up to 24gb ram. message edited by ckso2266
