AMD Turion II Dual Core Mobile P520 processor

Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium, AMD Turion II Dual Core Mobile P520/4GB
I have read on various sites that the AMD Turion II Dual Core Mobile P520 processor runs hot. This leads to PC malfunctions and ultimately shutdown until the machine cools off. There were numerous comments about inadequate heat sinks, fans, etc. I am looking to take advantage of back to school sales at Staples but the HP machines with the best prices/features use this processor. Does anyone know if AMD has resolved this "run hot" issue? Was it as widespread for this chip as comments suggest? My main PC apps are spreadsheet, word processing, email, internet, iTunes downloads, modest picture storage and navigation software. Ocassionally I may multi-task playing a DVD while I work. I am not a gamer. Thanks! John B.

You'll be fine mate - even a 5 year old laptop (single core Pentium 4 or similar) would be fine for your basic needs.
