The memory controller supports DDR2-800 or DDR3-1066 but it certainly wouldn't hurt to get DDR3-1600. Also, it would be a shame not to overclock. It will easily do over 3.0GHz without breaking a sweat... it's a 45W CPU so it runs cool. Many will unlock to a dual core too. You have nothing to lose & plenty to gain.
