Solved Netflix on a ps3 issue

Specs: Windows 7, 4gb
why do my netflix ping at 1000ms. When I ping www.netflix.com... I get requested time out. But if I just ping netflix.com... the ping just around upto 1000ms and sometimes more.

There are several different servers that are exact copies of the main server. The primary is just www, then www1, www2, etc. It's probably just that when you ping www.netflix.com, its a request to their main server, which is probably busy. When you ping just netflix.com, it automatically pings the next available server that isn't full.

I forgot to mention that most browsers will not ping the main server if you type www.netflix.com. They are designed to be user-friendly so if you type in www.netflix.com then it will automatically ping the next available server, be it www1 or www11 or whatever. Likewise, most servers/browsers will hide the number after the www, so they don't confuse people.
