Solved How do I connect my PS4 to my AV Receiver?

March 8, 2019 at 17:11:41
Specs: Windows 7, Intel Core i3-4350/3.60GHz
I'm trying to get my center speaker to work while playing the PS4 Pro. Right now only the side speakers are working. The center speaker works fine with Netflix and any other television function. I have the PS4 pro HDMI connected directly to the television in HDMI IN 1. When I try to connect it from the PS4 pro to the receiver in one of the hdcp 2.2 slots I lose the video to the PS4 pro and cannot connect to it. It doesn't show up under any of the imputs. I'm using the HDMI cable that came with the PS4 pro. I even tried one of my new HDMI cables from Amazon and no dice.

I can't try connecting via optical cable because the only optical cable that I have right now is connected from the TV to the receiver and the receiver only has the one optical slot.

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem? I've been in the PS4 settings and I have set everything to linear PCM. Also I have an LG OLED television (2017 model) that supports everything and I've changed the settings on the television to include HDMI 2 set as HDMI ultra HD deep color mode on.

From what I have read online all of my settings are correct so I'm not sure what the issue is.

I seem to have solved this issue by going into the receiver settings and changing the mode on HDMI 1 to 5.1 surround. The center speaker is working now.
