Hi Everyone,

Here is what i am thinking, i know that the harddrives on a xbox 360 are 2.5 inch SATA drives.

I have a 80 gig harddrive in one of my xbox's and the other has none as its a arcade version.

I am thinking of upgrading the arcade with a new HD and wondered if the following will work and if it is legal for me to do.

1) I will remove the HD from my current xbox 360 and remove from its enclosure

2) will connect the HD and a new empty HD to my pc

3) will use a ghosting app eg casperxp or PING to close the drive

4) replace my original hd back into the xbox 360 and put the new one in the arcade.

Do you guys think this will work or am i missing something?

i know you can buy transfer kits and they are cheap but if this works then i dont really need to buy one right?

any ideas/suggestions will be much appreciated. thanks.

just to save you some time and effort, its worth a look around the net, unfortunately you will find it isn't as straight forward & requires certain 'mod'ificaton , also latest m$ xbox patch may invalidate online gaming.

just get a 20 gig xbox drive as they are pretty cheap now.

Yeah i read online that if you do this you will be banned from xbox live, cheeky M$, what a shame, i wont be attempting this as i like to play online so i guess the only option is to buy a bigger xbox drive, which isnt an issue i odnt mind buying things, just thought it would be pretty cool if we could do it ourselves..

Thanks for the info 1stepbeyond :-)
