Is there any chance of android device(htc explorer) gets infected when connected to a desktop pc for charging and no data transfer happens between android device and pc .When it is infected by viruses and when there is no antivirus software installed on android device.

You have nothing to worry about on that score. Windows viruses don't work on Android anyway.

On another note, many androids are set up so that you have to enable it as a drive, so in that case the risk is even lower of computer to computer transfer.

✔ Best Answer
Even if you set up the device as a removable drive a Windows Virus will not effect an Android device.

What could happen though is if your windows Computer is infected, the virus could be transferred to the Android device and sit there dormant doing nothing. In effect it becomes a carrier.

The next time the device is plugged into a different Windows PC the virus is transferred to that PC and that is infected.

Before the days the Internet it was a common method of transferring a virus only then it was via floppy disk.

Best to ensure you don't get a virus in the first place.
