Viewpad mobile radio eating battery

February 14, 2012 at 10:25:50
Specs: Android
My viewpad 10e is having most of the battery used up by the Mobile standby- eg 70% over the last 5 hours. It tells me to switch to Airplane mode but there isn't one! The time without signal is shown at 100%. The 10e is Wi-fi only so there is no option to switch it off. Please help!

That's normal for the Viewpad. It scored very badly for battery life in independent tests, lasting only 2 hours, and standby mode made little difference.

if you want long battery life, buy the real thing - the Apple iPad. Apple know how to make a reliable and enjoyable product, allbeit at a price.

Can anyone who can actually read help? The problem is not the battery life, its that I can't switch off the mobile radio. It lasts a lot longer than 2 hours as it is, most reviews have it at 4-5 hours, which is generally my experience too.
Solutions that involve solving the problem, rather than recommending buying a completely different product would also be welcomed...

You need to contact Viewsonic Support, I can not find any info pertaining to "flight mode" or anything similar.

THOUGH Android 2.3.x Gingerbread search in Google found this:

Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....
