Hi

I have an Android Desire version 4.1.1 running Cyanogen Mod 10-20120803 which works fine with the exception of the following issue;

I plug my phone via USB to my computer and then choose "Settings>Wireless & Networks>More...>Tethering and portable hotspot>I then select Portable Wi-Fi hotspot and the when I attempt to select USB tethering I get the following message - "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped. My only choice at this point is to click "Ok" which just takes me back to settings.

The W-Fi hot spot is set up correctly.

Very annoying.

I cannot download from the Google Play store.

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers

Marty

"I cannot download from the Google Play store"

No need to tether to your PC to do that. Connect your HTC Desire wirelessly to your wireless router (assuming you have a router), then visit Google Play using your HTC Desire's web-browser.

The phone (HTC) can generate a mini Wi-Fi network by itself if you let it wirelessly tether. (Choose the first option). You can then connect to that from your laptop/PC/PS3/XBox/Wi-Fi Toaster. Tethering on the whole is a problematic area for ROMs and the fact you got Wi-Fi is already good. Mine does'nt even do that!
