You should have backed up your contacts when your Xperia was working okay by installing the Sony PC Companion software on your laptop or computer. The software allows you to create a backup of your phone data and MicroSD card content.

Phone contacts are not stored on the MicroSD card, they are stored on the SIM card or on the phone's internal storage depending on where you chose to save them. If new contacts were saved on the SIM card they should still be there as the SIM card isn't affected by a factory restore.

Since the new contacts are not showing, they must have been saved to the phone's internal storage which has been overwritten by the factory restore process. They cannot be retrieved if you did not back them up to your computer.

You will have to manually enter the missing contacts again.
