Screen black and want to transfer photos to new phone

October 27, 2016 at 11:16:01
Specs: Windows 7
I dropped my Samsung S6 Active and the screen went black. I still hear all message alerts, charging tones, email notifications, etc. just the screen doesn't work or show. I had insurance and got a new phone, but I have several irreplaceable photos on there that i'm devastated to lose. Don't have google photos or any type of back up (lesson learned). I have read several ways to transfer things, but they all require turning on NFC or USB or bluetooth, etc. and they're turned off on the old phone, and there's no screen to turn them on. Is there a way, through the computer connection, to bring up and save my photos out of the old phone? Thanks so much in advance!

Connect a USB cable to the computer and switch on the Samsung. Once it has been recognised by the computer go to the C driveand you should now see a Samsung folder. Click away inside until you find a sub-folder named DCIM (Digital Camera Images). There, or in a further sub-folder, you should find your photos which can be copied across to a computer folder.

I think it's more convenient to use a mobile transfer app to transfer data between phone and phone.

Those adding to this post, except spammers, should note that the original poster has not ever responded (since Oct 2016) so was presumably just a time waster.
