Samsung Android Phone randomly reboots

Well, I finally splurged and got an Android phone. It's one of the lower quality ones, but I like the carrier (Virgin Mobile). It's a Samsung Intercept, running 2.2 Froyo. My major problem is, every once and awhile, the phone will completely stop responding, and, after vibrating a few times, it'll restart itself to the glowing Samsung start screen. It doesn't delete anything, that I've noticed, at least, and is currently nothing more than an annoyance. Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

Intermittent battery connection or bad power switch would be the first 2 things to investigate. Sounds like it's simply losing power momentarily.

The power switch on this phone is the end button, and the battery, from what I can tell, is held pretty securely against the contacts. It is a pretty flimsy back cover, though.

Samsung are generally quite good at fixing bugs... just give them time and check for software updates.
