Root Checker and Busy Box

April 28, 2013 at 13:46:02
Specs: Android 2.2
I have a clockwork modded HTC Desire 2.2 which works fine.

I installed Root Checker and it confirmed my phone was rooted properly. I noticed the Busy Box menu item and clicked it and of course RC said it was not installed. I went to Play Store, downloaded and installed BB which failed to install properly (only some of the functionality works) plus I ran RC and it indicated it could still not find BB and that I needed to uninstall BB and try again. I also have Titanium Pro and SU pro installed which seem to work fine.
This has been a continuous loop of install, check and uninstall.
Perhaps I have too many apps. installed and there are conflicts?

Cheers and Thanks

When you've started BusyBox, have you clicked the install button at the bottom of the BusyBox app?

Hi paulsep - apologies for not getting back to you yesterday.

First I did a clockwork mod backup because the BB backup indicated it's backup was huge and not to SD (maybe in the future) and then yes I clicked the install button.

The messages received are as follows..

1) It looks like the installation of BB was not successful. Try installing to a different location that may resolve the issue, I clicked the red X and BB closed.

2) I then uninstalled BB and installed Busy Box Installer v 1.2. It chugged away for a few minutes and thought I was getting somewhere but it also failed with the following message. Please try a different version. Please note that BB I attempts to install BB to your system. Some versions of BB may not work with some devices. If problems persist please email us and we will be glad to offer assistance. (Which I have yet to do). I tried a custom install of BBI to \sdcard\system and that failed also.
In both cases under 2) I clicked the red x and BBI closed.

This is where it sits and the phone is still not bricked!

Cheers and thanks for the reply....

Have you checked, how much space is left for installation?

Thanks again paulsep

Lots of room on SD (about 6 Gb) - very little on phone (about 20Mb)
