on Galaxy S4 people are not able to hear me

December 8, 2015 at 13:01:38
Specs: Windows 7
on Galaxy S4 people are not able to hear me, I can hear them. It was working and then it started doing this. I have deleted an application several times and reinstalled it, but every time it's the same thing. people can hear some weird noises from my side, but not the words I am saying. I can hear everyone clearly and both sides can see the picture, no problem, but no one can hear what I am saying. It is very frustrating, I use Skype all the time and i don't understand what could have happened

Aha, I was waiting for the magic word Skype to arrive LOL.

Open Skype and go to "Tools > Options > Audio settings".

At the top make sure the microphone you use is showing (there might be a choice in the drop down). You can test it by speaking and seeing if the green bar moves as you do so.

Also on the left hand side of Skype there are some tests you can carry out under Echo / Sound test Service (at the top of your contacts list).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Hi Derek, thank you for helping me, I cannot find tools on the application, there is settings, but I could not find there Audio settings either, I remember setting up skype on PC and adjusting and figuring the audio settings on PC, I was able to do that, but on Android somehow I cannot figure it out. It used to work properly and all of a sudden it plays those nasty tricks on me. Where do I find tools? Again, it's galaxy S4, can you show me a screen shot of where I find those tools? Thank you again for helping me.

OMG. Sorry I somehow strayed onto the Andoid forum and gave you an answer for Windows. I'll see if I can find the equivalent (if there is one) unless someone else beats me to it.

EDIT:
From this it looks as if it might be a Skype issue:

Note that one of the inputs was only a few hours ago. It would be worth keeping an eye on that link.

There might be a sound test app kicking around but I'm more inclined to think this is a buggy Skype Update. In which case with luck it should get replaced soon. How long has it been going on?

Lol Derek, it happens. It happened to me too until June this year, after which I realized its time to upgrade myself :)
and Julia, try uninstalling and reinstalling skype. If the same version does not work, try a latest version. If it still fails, try downgrading. Newer version sometimes contain bugs. Hope this helps :)
