I have had a Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 and just now got my wife one.

Her Belkin cover enables the auto wake/sleep feature and mine doesn't. The covers
Both have the auto wake magnets.

I have looked everywhere on my tablet for a setting I might have adjusted that is
causing this disparity between the two tablets.

Try swapping cases to see if your wife's cover puts your tablet to sleep.

I have read in some cases where the magnets in the covers aren't exactly aligned and causes the feature not to work.

Great minds think

I decided to swap the covers out and sure enough her cover would put mine to sleep
and wake it up.

I came back to post my revelation and found your post.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the easy one.

I looked her cover up and it lists the auto wake magnets int eh specs and doesn't on mine. Although mine has magnets in there to keep the lid closed but not to auto wake it.

Thanks for the help. I guess I will have to live with it as these covers aren't cheap and I
guess I can still click the button to sleep or wake.

I'm glad you worked it out. A shame though that they implemented magnets to keep the cover closed but not to enable a useful function.
