I just got a Samsung Galaxy J3. It's working fine, except for one issue. During the setup, I connected it to my Home Network and it connected just fine. No problems. No Issues. But then, if I try to go to the Internet, I get a popup message that says there is no Internet connection. I don't understand why that would be, since I can clearly see that the phone is connected to my WiFi.

I called Consumer Cellular twice and have emailed them about this twice, but they couldn't give me an answer or a solution to the problem. One person there suggested that I call my Internet provider. They seem to think the problem is with my AmPed AC750 router. I've checked my router and it is working fine. In fact, it's probably the best router I've ever used. At CC's suggestion, I rebooted my modem and router, and I still can't connect to the Internet from the phone. I did see an explanation of the popup message that referred to the DNS setting being possibly responsible for the problem. Even if that is the case, I am not sure how to resolve a DNS problem, especially when it might effect the other peripherals on the network.

I have several devices connected to my network. Three are via LAN connections and the others are via WiFi. Everything works fine. Nothing on the router has changed so I can't figure out why the phone is connected to the network, just like all of the other devices, yet it can't open a browser to the Internet.

I checked at a local Starbucks, which is nearby, that uses COX Internet, my provider. I had no problem connecting there an going online. When I am home, I'd rather be using my WiFi through my home network to avoid the data charges if at all possible.

I hope I explained this clearly enough, and hope that someone here has perhaps experienced a similar problem and found a solution. I'd appreciate some assistance. Thanks very much.

" I get a popup message that says there is no Internet connection. I don't understand why that would be, since I can clearly see that the phone is connected to my WiFi."

Being successfully connected to your router's WiFi and being successfully connected to the internet are two different things. In your situation (successful WiFi connection but no internet) it's almost always a router/modem problem.

I suggest you restart the router or go through it's initial setup procedure again like you did when you first got it. Failing that, change the router.

Have you tried the option "forget network" in your phone, then reconnect and re-enter the password?
