Restart your wireless router (unplug it then plug it back in), and wait until router has connected to the internet and is ready to use. make sure it's wireless indicator light shows that wireless is ready.

Now for good measure restart your tablet. Your wireless network should then appear in the list of available networks.

I do not have a router. When I switch on WiFi on the tablet, a list of available networks appears however "mywifisetup" doesn't appear.

Where doe the wifi come from, a modem/route combo unit, or are you using someone else's that was not secured. Which is to say do you pay for an internet service or just getting a close by signal free? If it was a "free" one perhaps they have changed routers, or reset their router settings.

To err is human but to really screw things up, you need a computer!

When you log on to my employer's Wi-Fi, it's necessary that you use the "mywifisetup" application. The setting came with the phone, so I'm surprised that it disappeared after performing a factory reset.
