Solved How to save a ROM image from a phone?

Specs: Windows XP, x86 1995 MHz
I have Xtouch X509 phone and wondering if there is a way to save the whole image of its ROM including all installed apps and their settings to restore them later in case of a crash. something like a ghost image on a PC.

look on the manufacturer's website, they may have a phone system backup application for a Windows PC like Sony has for my Xperia phone.

It's a long shot though as usually only the well-known phone manufacturer's like Samsung & Sony have backup software that you can install on a PC. That's why it pays to buy a well-known brand.

off course there is no such software with Xtouch. There supposed to be a third party software like how it is the case with PCs

The problem is that portable devices tend to use hardware that is more proprietary than that used in PCs. Software to make a ROM image would be tied closely to the hardware it was designed for, making it very difficult for a third party supplier.

How about upgrading the OS from 4.2 to 4.4? does that require different hardware or it can be done if I get the right ROM?
