Might not be quite your model but there is some brief general info at page 75 & 75 here:
http://www.manualslib.com/manual/54...

Assuming Wifi basically you have to view the networks, find the name of your own (probably the one with most signal if this is shown) then enter the pass key that you used for other devices. It makes it easer to do this near the router.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Two possibilities. On the right side of the top of the screen swipe your finger down to open quick settings display. Touch wireless.

Second option. Touch the applications icon then touch the gear shaped application that is labeled settings then touch wireless on the left hand menu.

Either way there should be a slider icon that says off near the top once you have gone to wireless. Click it to turn on. If your wireless network is up. Pick the network you own and then click connect. It should prompt you for a Wep/wpa code. Often this is found on the bottom of the router.

Then select connect.

( didn't see Derek's post untill after posting. Oops)

I would add too that If its a more narrow question like you have already done the basic connects suggested above and are not having luck. That there may be a better way to help you.

Thank you Mike and Derek for your suggestions but have still not succeeded in connecting to the web. It may be my fault in using the wrong username/password in my original attempt.
Today I’ve opened the ‘Settings’ page and on pressing the Wi-Fi button I get five options and under the site which should connect me to the web are the words ‘Saved, secured with WPA/WPA2’ ( the other options show ‘Disabled’)
When I press this option I get a panel which states signal strength as Excellent, the security as WPA/WPA2 PSK and the three options – Cancel, Forget and Connect but when I press Connect the panel disappears but I’m still not connected!
I’ve tried to open my email account but get the message ‘Couldn’t open connection to server.
I think what I need to do is go back to square one and re-enter the username and password but despite several visits to Youtube, etc. I’ve not yet been able to find out how to do this.
If you will do some further head scratching on my behalf I’ll be most grateful.

There is an Asus Manual here (pdf download):
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/As...

With luck there will be a section on setting up Wifi.

Hi Derek

You're a star! I've downloaded the pdf and with luck and a following wind I'll hopefully be able to sort things out.

Watch this space and many thanks.

Hi Derek

I'm afraid it's failure. The manual while quite good didn't give me any information that helped with my problems so I've bitten the bullet and returned the Asus to John Lewis and obtained a refund.

I'll now look around at other devices, again many thanks for your help.

Jim
