Help recovering pictures from broken galaxy S4

Specs: 4.4
My parents when on their first trip and took several pictures on their phone. They came back and the phone suddenly is unresponsive. It was brought back to the phone carrier and they tried everything. Its internal memory. The pc doesn't even recognize it at all. They'll be sending it out and said all will be lost. My mom was crying for the loss of pictures which included pictures of my daughter. That's what she wanted the most. My question is, could I get an exact phone and swap parts and make it work somehow?

Do you know what the carrier did? There is an Android Data Recovery Software available.

I also found this: http://www.galaxy-recovery.com/

I don't know how well it works, but it's worth a try.

Did they happen to put micro SD memory card in it? If so, you can remove the card, put it in a card reader and retrieve the photos from there.

Before you go shelling out $45 for the software in the previous post, be aware it only works if your phone is still working, it doesn't work on a dead phone and there are plenty of free recovery tools that will do the same thing.
