Very strange. I don't have to enter anything when I connect my Android phone on Windows 7. It just asks me what I want to do and I select "Show files".

Maybe your user account is a limited one instead of an admin one?

Try using a Windows user account which has admin privileges.

Very strange indeed as Windows has never asked for a username and password when pluging in a phone device. Is this some sort of third party software?

I`m not sure whats going on. I get asked for both Username & password. And can`t seem to get passed that.

As for third party S/W I don`t believe so. It seems to originate from Es file explorer.

ES File explorer IS a third party app since it's not native to Windows or the Android OS.

So that being said, when exactly does it ask for your username and password? If you don't have a Windows password have you tried just leaving it blank and hitting Enter?
