Droid 3 by Motorola access to phone denied

Specs: Windows 7
Hi,
I have a problem with my Droid 3 by Motorola. The lock pattern has been entered too many times and now I cannot open the phone. I tried to re- activate the phone with my Google account but the password is not working for some reason. I am able to turn on my phone & receive phone calls but have no access to text & other data on the phone. I did the standard, remove the battery, turn it off & on again solution but nothing changed. How can I gain access to my data on the phones memory (not memory card) without re-setting the whole phone to factory settings & loosing all my texts, pictures, & info. Please let me know if you can help.

1. Reset (forgot password) your gmail password via www.gmail.com
2. Draw an incorrect pattern five times on your phone, you'll be warned you've been unsuccessful in unlocking your phone and to try again in 30 seconds. Before the 30 seconds expire, try to get back to the lock pattern, and you'll see a new button in the bottom right corner of the lock screen
3. Tap the Forgot pattern button, and you'll be prompted to enter the credentials of the Google account associated with the device.
4. Once you've successfully authenticated the account associated with the phone, you'll be prompted to create a new unlock pattern

You will need your gmail account username/password to unlock and reset pattern. http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/sm...
