does android assistant free version allow backups & restore

May 24, 2016 at 16:44:03
Specs: Windows 7
I'm looking for a free backup app for my android phone. I saw Android Assistant, but the free version doesn't allow me to back up data. Either I'm doing something wrong or the free version is useless.
I want a Free app to back up my Android phone, Full backups (including system files), selected file backups etc.
Thanks for your help

Maybe I didn't ask the question correctly.
I'm looking for a free app to back my android phone.
It would be good If I could select specific files or All files.
I would like the backup to go on my Windows 7 PC.
I saw Android Assistant but it wasn't Freeware.
Thanks in advance

It's not that you're asking the question incorrectly, it's that I don't think you understand what you need to backup.

There is no need what-so-ever to backup system files. That being said, you need to know what you want to backup. Obviously you want to backup pictures, movies, and music files, but what else do you need to backup? Backing up all files means nothing, you don't backup system files, app/program files or operating system files.

Do you game? are you wanting to backup data from games? Do you need to backup Word or Excel documents? If you know what your doing, you can have just about anything backed up to a cloud. So please elaborate on what you want specifically backed up.

I would also help to know what make and model your phone is and who is your carrier. The Android operating system is very cusomizable and every carrier tailors it differently and it behaves differently for every make & model of phone.

Thanks 'THX 1138', I appreciate your response,
However this isn't a complicated question. Ignore my other 2 posts.
My phone is using Android 4.1.2
My question is:
I would like a recommendation of a free app for backing up files on my Android phone.
The backup will be run on a Windows 7 PC.
I would like the App to allow me to see all the files that are on the phone
Then I would like to be able to select which files are backed up.
I see a number of apps out there. For example
- Helium App Sync and Backup
- Ultimate Backup
- Titanium Backup
- Super Backup
- Backup Your Mobile
Those are just a few that I see listed and are listed as examples of Apps for backing up a phone's data, but it doesn't mean I must choose from the ones I listed.
Thanks
