Specs: Android 2.3, 1GHZ 512MB
Hi, i got a refurbished CruzT408 really cheap from a vendor, but it doesnt charge while it is running, have to turn it completely off. That´ s actually the way it is distributed, is says so in the manual from the vendor.

I noticed that the Power Supply (connects to USB jack of tablet) is not the original one. Its rated at 5V, 2A. Could it be that the Power Supply is lacking something, like the abillity to a handshake, signalling that it can provide a high ( enough to power the tablet and charge at the same time) current? Or that the original Power Sup sends some special signals over the Data− and Data+ ?

5V 2A is the standard for that tablet. So no, I doubt buying an 'official' charger or a more powerful one would allow it to be run and charged, especially if it says it can't in the manual. If you bought a charger rated higher than that, most likely it just wouldn't work.

After a little research, I did notice chargers claiming to be able to make it charge and run, although since it is rated the same (5V 2A) this probably isn't true.

Hi, im not talking about a higher rated charger. And I wasnt talking about an actual manual, it was just a txt document with typos that the vendor supplied, and he was referring to the setup with his supplied Power Supply. Sorry, I didnt specify that

I mean something in this repective (doesnt have to be exactly the case): "As compared to standard downstream ports, where a portable device can only draw more than 100 mA current after digital negotiation with the host"(quote wikipedia), that the Tablet is waiting for a handshake and doesnt receive it, and therefore assumes a low current port. I dont know how its all implemented, which is why i am asking.

You can download the official manual here.

After reading through the manual, I didn't see anything about it not being able to run while charging, so it is possible that it is just that charger.

Quick question, is the charger straight wall to mini USB, or is there a detachable USB port?
