Connecting dognle to Android Nexus 10 tablet

Specs: Android
Android dongle. I've heard it is difficult connecting a dongle to a Nexus 10. I want to access the internet sometimes in places where there is no hotspot or wifi, but only a mobile phone mast.(I don't have a smartphone and don't want one!)

I already have a lead to convert the android socket into a usb port, so what are the likely problems beyond that? How can I be sure a dongle will work before buying it? An old one I have worked on a windows laptop ok: can I use the same one and just buy more airtime from EE?

Just try it mate, what better to way to find out if it works?

That's even better (& quicker) than waiting for someone to tell you!
