You will have to live with what it is and if you do not have Android 2.2 or later Flash Suport is not there either...

Converting to another O/S, well if you are a developer it may be feasible to install Windows CE

I have just had a look at the Mastering Astronomy website, and it says under 'system requirements' that only devices that support adobe 'flash' technology are compatable (which also excludes the current ipad). I also have an epad and, unfortunately, flash is not yet available. You can check this for any android device by searching for 'flash'in the Android market. If it does NOT appear, then flash is not available for that device. My android phone uses 2.2 and flash runs just fine, but my epad has 2.3 and (ironically) it can't run flash. Come on adobe - get your development house in order !!!!

Though Android 2.2 and later support Flash, that is on native installs. It would appear that Android updated on Tablets to later version, especially if running 1.6 or 1.9, does not have Flash compatibility.

Google state that Android versions 1.x and 2.x are not for tablets and it is up to the manufacturers to support and implement features..

Do not blame Adobe, blame the Chinese Manufacturers, hold on, no blame the people who buy them without researching that they are buying a glorified toy !!
