My Android tablet/pad doesn't have a data plan connection with any carrier but always get connected to the Internet via a high speed Wi-Fi connection. I would like to use What's App with this mobile device. Is that possible?

I installed it on my Samsung Galaxy 8 tablet a while back but the downside was I could no longer use it on my iPhone. I needed to use my phone number to get the confirmation text message and use the code in the text message provided on the tablet.
I did read they were implementing it for wifi only tablets a while back but as phil22 has pointed out they haven't done this yet.
Yes, information pointed by the top link works on my Wi-Fi only and rooted Kindle FHD7 (running standard version of Android instead of Amazon's).
