Android market is not updating automatically to google play?

Specs: android gingerbread, 600mhz/512 mb
Android market is not updating to google play automatically after factory reset of my htc explorer where as previously it is getting automatic update after factory reset.
Can anybody help me why it is not updating to google play from android market this time after factory reset?

IT looks as though any setup after 2.2 should have come with playstore., It appears that you have 2.3 plus based upon the gingerbread spec above.

Unless it is another android if so check here for system specs navigate to Settings > About phone/About tablet and look for the Android version. If the gingerbread spec is correct, then after the factory restore, you should have automatically had it. Have you gone into the android market since the update?
ensure that it is on this list:
also try a manual update settings>about phone>software update

(If an update is available your device then you will be asked whether you wish to install it. If you select yes then the system will download and install the new software and reboot.
Note: You device may require a Wi-Fi connection to search for an update. We also recommend downloading the software over Wi-Fi because the file size can be large.)

Otherwise it is recommended to check with your provider to see if there is an error.

@mikelinus previously I have received the playstore update after factory reset and have received the latest version of google play but now after factory reset I am not getting the latest google play version update automatically.
