I don't think so, although i've not tried that. However, I question how you would know what drivers to load if you have no knowledge of your system specs.

Why do you want to load drivers in safe mode anyway?

What are you trying to do? FYI Windows XP safe mode will only load basic graphics driver (enough to display the user interface), access to your drives and windows configuration, and very little else.

well i want to do that because i have a terrible error! i literally ran out of space one time...tried freeing some space and restarted my computer and, i started it and cmd came up with a command.. it siad like documents and settings/my documents/ -s -t 2
system shutdown is in progress

So, you can boot into safe mode but not into standard mode? Like I said, I don't know how claening up the drive should impact Windows.

Try system restore. Go to Start> help and support> system restore. Choose a restore point that redates the current problem. Should this operation not help then go back and undo the restore. Those operations can be performed from the safe mode. (edit)

If successful and you still need to cleanup the disk try going to Internet Explorer and use tools> internet options> delete cookies and files. That should free up some space.

thats also the problem....my system restore files got corrupted. and i cant go back in time :(

Try booting into standard mode and post the entire message you get.

i cant post the entire message i get because it only stays on for 5 seconds and theres not enough time to get it all... all it does it just leads to my documents then gives me the -s -t 2 system is shutting down

try turning off automatically restart when in safe mode. That way you will get an error when the PC shuts down

Good advice above. You can also try using the scroll lock button or the pause button. Not sure if they will work at that point or not.

i hit scroll lock and it stopped moving but.. just like normal everything closed out and then shut off.

Disabling System Restore will free up lots of space, and then re-enabling it should make it functional again.

But definitely clear some (a lot of) stuff out before you start adding more (like drivers, etc.), in any mode.

PS: the "-s -t 2" part appears to be one of those automatically-Windows-generated very hidden folders (Recycle Bin has 'em too, for example), and of no use to you.

-s -t 2 is part of WinXP's shutdown command (specifically, it shuts down the PC in 2 seconds). Slap the teenager nearest your PC, repeatedly, until he undoes his prank.
