I have a HP Pavilion PC with 60GB HD, operate system is Win ME.
One week ago, this pc suddenly can not bootup, error message said: "operating system not found".
I use WinME bootup disk to boot pc into DOS, FDISK only show 7GB HD under DOS, I don't know where are rest part of HD ( 53GB ) ? I also know how to find and format rest part of HD ?
Under C:, I can find WinME operating system, only see some bootup files.
I tried to use HP recovery CD, error said " no HD".
At BIO, sometime I can see HD, but sometime it is gone ( can not see HD ). If I wait overnight, then turn on pc again, sometime I can see HD in BIO.
What is wrong this HD ?

Most likely the problem is drive controller, ribbon cable or hard drive. Try reseating the ribbon cable first.
