Full Legal Terms

Here are the terms:

• First and foremost, any post made to Computing.Net will remain on Computing.Net until a moderator chooses to remove it. While requests for removal are sometimes granted, at no time is the owner of Computing.Net obligated to remove a post made onto the site. In all but certain circumstances, a post made on the site will stay on the site for use by future users.
• Users who post questions on Computing.Net should do their best to reply to the people who answered their post. This reply should let the people know whether or not the solution worked properly. It can be made by using the form on the message under the heading "Use following form to reply to current message."
• Any posts that breach the rules below should be reported to the moderators of Computing.Net by using the "Report Offensive Message/Followup for Removal" link on each post. This will allow Computing.Net to remain a superior provider of technical support to all users.

• If you forgot a piece of information when you posted your question, post a reply on your original thread. Do not post a whole new thread containing the additional information. These threads with additional information will be removed, hence damaging your ability to receive help.
• Do not allow your posts to "creep." In other words, any and all followups, such as answers to requests for additional information or the results of recommendations followed, to your original post should be addressed in that original post. This can be accomplished by using the reply form located at the bottom of each and every post. If you enter this followup information by creating a whole new posting on the site, that new posting will most likely be deleted.
• Do not post any questions or answers that infringe on another party's intellectual property. This includes questions asking where to obtain or how to use "warez," "cracks," or anything like that. It also includes posts related to circumventing time limits in shareware software and illegally obtaining software "key codes." Remember, most abandonware is a myth. Copyrights on software last far longer than five years.
• Do not post any questions or answers having to deal with hacking or cracking. These include, but are not limited to, entering restricted places on networks or messing up other people's computers.
• Do not post the same question on multiple forums. Even if the question could apply to the subject matter of more than one forum, choose whichever one best suits your problem and post on that. If you post the same message on multiple forums, all related posts will be removed.
• Do not post the same question more than one time on the same forum unless your original post was not adequately answered and has moved a considerable distance down the list of messages.
• Do not post mean-spirited or offensive messages. Use common sense for this rule, as the moderators will do the same. However, taunting people who have poor English skills is one type of offensive message that is clearly unacceptable. This site, while primarily used by English speakers, is International.
• Do not post advertisements to sell products or peddle other sites onto this site. Users who provide answers may post a link to their own help site along with the answer. However, people should not make posts specifically promoting their site and nothing else. This rule does not apply to anyone posting a site with answers to a common problem or group of problems. Usually, such posts will be made by people with no specific interests in the site that is the subject of the posting. If you have an interest in the site you are posting, your message may be removed.
• Finally, do not assume that this is a complete set of rules. Use common sense when posting onto this forum. A rule that seems like it should be followed, but not specifically outlined here, should be followed. Do not complain to a moderator if a clearly inappropriate post was removed.
