Comment:
I need documentation for Basic (not VisualBasic, but the old basic). I heared it does a lot of interesting things.
I will need a compiler too, or an interpretor (wichever exists).
Can anyone help me with a site, link or ftp?
Alex.

G'day,

Of all the flavours anonproxy alludes to, QBasic is the best place to start.
Do you have a PC? If so, you might have a version of it on your PC. It would probably be in the windows/command directory as qb.exe or something.
If not, you can get QBASIC V4.5, which is a compiled verion and it has a good help file.
Unfortunately, I don't have the link to hand.
Do search for it in google and you should be OK.
As for text books/data; there must be more out there in 2nd hand (whoops ..pre-loved) bookshops and trade fairs. As anonproxy states, there are a lot of versions but the core of the language is surprisingly intact (most vendors produced "supersets" of the language), so any book will get you started.
regards,
Elric
