I would say stay away from Windows CE. It is an old OS. You might want to think about Palm OS vs Pocket PC. And that is a loaded question. You should first figure out what are you going to do with your PDA. Once you have your list then start doing the research. This url might be a good place to start: http://computers.cnet.com/hardware/0-1087-8-7798870-1.html?tag=bb It has a pretty good chart that you can use as your check off list.
Palm os is alot better than windows ce and pocket PC,there alot cheaper and have more software and are much easyer to use Win ppc is good but very complicated and hard to use plus it crashes!
Greg's statement is not completely true. Most high end Palm's are around the same price as some PocketPC devices.
Take for example the Sony Clie PDAs, they are just as expensive as an iPaq H3800 series PocketPC.
However again, depending on what you plan to use your PDA for your best bet might be a lower end Palm. Some people think color is the be all end all, but I have a b&w Palm and an iPaq H3800 and I find the Palm to be less of a hog on overall resources. Regardless I use my iPaq for alot more business applications and networking apps than my Palm.
