OK, so I try to connect to my wireless network and I get connected with "Limited Usability" and nothing I do seems to work.
the Desktop that has the router is a Compaq Presario blah blah blah doesn't matter with XP SP2. the Laptop is an Acer Aspire 5520-5891 with Vista Home Premium the router is a Westell 327W(For Verizon)
When I enter the WEP it says "Connected with limited Usability" I just tried using Network Magic, and couldn't fix it. One of the main problems is I can't access my router settings...
So what about the lights? What happens when you open IE on the Compaq and enter the modem's IP? You're really not providing much information...just bits here and there.
The lights do what they are supposed to, the are solid mostly, and blink partially. When I enter the modems IP I can't access my internet settings because it asks for a Password and User name, which I don't have.
If you enter the modem's IP in IE's address bar, it should prompt you for login. Try admin and admin. If that doesn't work, reset the modem and try again.
I have tried Admin Admin, Admin Pass, Admin Password, Administrator Pass, Administrator Password. Nothing seems to work, but reset my router I assume you mean Turn it on and then off? I have, and that doesn't seem to do anything. I think I have to get a new router, so I will add it to the list of things I am going to buy...
I will try the reset button, and I tried every variation of admin ever. Thank you for your help, but I think I need a new router anyways, Westell routers suck...
