Key Highlights
- Tron DAO becomes a member of the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF), managed by the Linux Foundation
- The blockchain network gains a seat on the AAIF’s governing board with Circle and JPMorgan
- Founder Justin Sun identifies AI as a central priority for Tron in 2026, highlighting the network’s efficiency and minimal transaction costs
- Tron maintains the top position among blockchains for revenue generation across 24-hour, weekly, and monthly periods
- The Bank of AI platform, designed as a financial infrastructure layer for AI agents, went live on Tron during February’s second half
Tron DAO has become a member of the Agentic AI Foundation, an organization managed by the Linux Foundation dedicated to advancing open-source AI technologies and establishing industry-wide standards.
Monday brought the official announcement. Tron assumes a position on the AAIF’s governing board alongside current members Circle and JPMorgan.
The organization was created to develop standards covering governance, safety protocols, and interoperability for agentic AI systems. Such systems refer to AI agents capable of autonomous decision-making and action execution.
Tron DAO highlighted that future demand from agentic AI will be substantial, requiring infrastructure designed to process continuous streams of high-volume, low-value transactions efficiently.
“Interoperable frameworks are expected to play an important role in ensuring that AI agents can operate across platforms and services without creating fragmented ecosystems,” the DAO said in its statement.
This strategic direction aligns with statements from Tron founder Justin Sun during the previous month, identifying AI as a central focus area for the network throughout 2026.
Sun has highlighted Tron’s transaction speed, scalability capabilities, and minimal fees as characteristics that position the network favorably for supporting AI agent operations.
Building AI-Ready Infrastructure
The Bank of AI represents a tangible manifestation of this strategic direction, offering a financial layer purpose-built for AI agents through AINFT. The platform became operational on Tron and BNB Chain during the middle of February 2025.
Stripe’s CEO Patrick Collison alongside co-founder John Collison addressed similar concerns during the previous month, identifying an infrastructure shortfall in blockchain technology that requires resolution to accommodate growing AI requirements.
Tron DAO outlined its objectives through AAIF participation: contributing to open infrastructure development that makes AI agents “easier to build, safer to operate, and more accessible.”
Revenue Performance Metrics
Latest figures from DeFiLlama position Tron at the forefront of all blockchains for revenue generation. The network produced $1.01 million during the past 24 hours, accumulated $6.54 million over seven days, and reached $25.58 million across 30 days.
Sun has indicated that AI-related activity on the network already contributes to these revenue figures.
“AI is scaling fast. When agents transact, demand shows up in the network metrics. TRON keeps leading on real usage,” Sun said earlier this month.
Tron DAO emphasized its commitment to developing collaborative standards through foundation participation.
The AAIF functions within the Linux Foundation framework, established to promote open-source agentic AI advancement while enabling interoperability across diverse platforms and services.
Tron’s membership places the network alongside two prominent players in financial and cryptocurrency infrastructure—Circle and JPMorgan—as they collectively influence the evolution of agentic AI standards.
