i just installed quad core processor on my new intel motherboard also fit cpu fan power connector on 4 pins and after giving power supply to the motherboard the cpu fan is not running the mobo green light is on i did not install memory and graphic card i dont have this things but i want to know y cpu fan is not running y this mobo need ram only then the fan will run or the fan is bad??? im confussed plz tell me i have to wait few more days for ram and graphics card so i just hope the fan is not running coz of memeory is not on board

i also connected 24 pin connector and other 4 pins connector for processor still cpu cooling fan not running

Wait until you get ALL the components, then benchtest BEFORE installing the board in the case. If you already mounted it in the case, take it out & wait til your other parts come in.

When removing from the case look at the case standoffs to verify they are placed under every screwhole in the MBoard and ONLY under the screwholes.

Also read your motherboard manual. It may say something about the CPU fan which may indicate it is controlled by a thermal sensor and will only spin up once the CPU reaches a certain temperature. Just a guess.

I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
