Comment: Hello, I am still not satisfied with my system's speed, which seems just a hair faster then my old setup that is 2 years out of date. My current setup: MSI NX6800GS-TD256E Lite Geforce 6800GS 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card ABIT KN8 SLI Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Dual Core Processor ASPIRE ATX-AS600W-BL ATX12V/ EPS12V 600W Power Supply (2) 512KB Kingston PC3200 DDR RAM However when I run more then one program at once there is the same type of lag there was with a single 32 bit core CPU. If I run antivirus the same lag is there when trying to open up a browser window or any program for that matter. Shouldn't my setup be jaw droppingly faster then my old AMD 3000+ CPU?

Reply: (edit)Unless there's some sort of major breakthrough in HDD technology, the HDD will ALWAYS be the slowest component in the system. And even though dual core CPUs are being touted as the best things since sliced bread, the 2 cores still have to share the rest of the system.

Reply: (edit)Thanks, but I think the dual cores should be a lot faster, since my system pretty much runs the same as my old system.
