DOS FAQ / Hard Drive Management Problems

Question:

How to partition a hard drive?

Answer:

The DOS setup will automatically partition your drive for you. This is the easiest way to do it. All you need to do is boot up with the setup disk (Disk 1). To manually partition your drive, you need to boot up with bootdisk. If you don't have one go to http://www.bootdisk.com/ and download one for your system. Once the system has booted to DOS, type FDISK. If you are unsure what to do from there, follow the onscreen prompts to create a primary partition as large as it will allow. Then, reboot your computer, and format the new partition.
