Subject: can't make cd/cdrw work
OS: win ME
CPU/Ram: not sure
Model/Manufacturer: generic I think
Comment:
my dad has an opti storage OPCRW5224 cd/cdrw but the computer says it's just a cd. I presume this is because he needs a driver but aren't a techie. We found a couple of drivers and now have the computer confused but I can't find the actual driver for this model anywhere.

Windows has generic drivers built in, and will recognise a CD Drive, no need for any drivers to be installed.

To use the Re-Writing Features you need Burning software which supports ME, amybe:

Well if they no longer support ME only W2K/XP, you will need to find a copy of Easy CD Creator5 or NERO5 somewhere, if you want to create CD's with your burner.
