Subject: corrupt downloads after OC
OS: vista64 ultimate
CPU/Ram: intel 2 quad q6600 2gigs
Model/Manufacturer: asus striker extreme, nvi
Comment:
Ive overclocked my Q6600 cpu to 3.0GHz 1500fsb x8 multiplier on striker extreme, all other bios settings are default. It runs stable tested with 3dmark on constant loop, my ram is running unlinked at 667MHz 5,5,5,15 1T. The problem is since the overclock, im getting corrupt downloads. if i drop it back to 1244fsb x9 multi 2.8GHz the downloads then become ok. I wondered if anyone new what was causing this, and possibly a way of solving it whilst keeping the 3.0GHz overclock. Thanks in advance :)

Make sure that the PCI and PCIe busses are locked at 33MHz and 100MHz, respectively.

To start with, you should be running the CPU & RAM in sync. Try running linked with a ratio of 1:1. You're currently running the CPU at 375MHz (1500MHz QDR) & the RAM is lagging behind at 333MHz (667MHz DDR). Find a happy medium that both can run at...9 x 333MHz, 8.5 x 353MHz, etc. And don't be shy about increasing the CPU voltage if necessary. The range is 0.85v - 1.50v:
