Ok I have the manual from the PcChips website, and in the manual it says

The following list notes the processors that are currently supported by this mainboard.

Athlon: 650 MHz~1.2 GHz, FSB: 200 MHz
Duron: 550~850 MHz, FSB: 200 MHz

But in the BIOS if I go to CPU PnP Setup Page , I can set the CPU FSB to 100mhz (100x2)FSB or I can change it to 133mhz (133x2) along with Dram which i can change from 100 to 133.

So my question is I have a friend of mine who has both CPU's in stoch the Athlon 1.2ghz(200FSB) and the Athlon 1.2ghz (266FSB). And although the manual says I can only use 200, my BIOS says different and allow support of the 266.

Mine is Rev 3.0... but I did just flash the BIOS to the date 08/08/03 ... so that's Aug 8th ,2003 ... although it was mentioned on the site above that Jam gave a link too that some people ran a

Athlon XP2400+ (266FBS) on Rev 3.0 - Quite a few people have had success with this cpu - strange, as the Rev 3.0 shouldn't support 266FSB.

So maybe I should just take a chance and if it doesn't work just send it back to my friend and get the 200FBS one.

If you don't have PC133 RAM, it's pointless to get a 133MHz (266FSB) CPU. Socket A systems perform horribly when the CPU & RAM are run async. If you have PC100, stick with a 100MHz (200FSB) CPU...or if you're running PC133 with a 200FSB CPU, make sure to dial down the RAM speed to run at 100MHz.

Right now I have 2 sticks of PC133 running @ 100mhz just like the CPU FSB which is also @ 100mhz, thanks for the tip =).

good advice above - amd 32bit perform badly when running async, stick with a 100fsb cpu.

I used to be a member of the pc chips lottery support forum until it stopped working and yes, some people do have sucess with 133fsb on the revision 3.0 m810 but there is also the problem that some boards of this revision will not run tbred cpus, the fsb isn't as much of an issue but it can still be an issue - most 3.0s will run at 133fsb (266 ddr)
