Mistral AI, a prominent European artificial intelligence enterprise, has secured $830 million through debt financing. The Paris-based firm announced the proceeds will fund the acquisition of 13,800 Nvidia chips destined for a data center facility in the capital’s outskirts.
This transaction represents Mistral’s inaugural venture into debt capital markets. A syndicate of seven financial institutions underwrote the arrangement, with participants including BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole CIB, HSBC, and MUFG.
The planned data center will occupy space in Bruyeres-le-Chatel, situated south of Paris. Mistral anticipates commencing operations during 2026’s second quarter.
CEO Arthur Mensch emphasized the importance of European infrastructure expansion. “Scaling our infrastructure in Europe is critical to empower our customers and to ensure AI innovation and autonomy remain at the heart of Europe,” he stated.
