Amazon brought its Health AI platform to every U.S. customer on March 10, 2026, launching the service through Amazon.com and its mobile application. The company previously restricted this technology to paid One Medical app subscribers.
The deployment follows a phased approach. Amazon announced plans to extend availability throughout the upcoming weeks, aiming for complete national coverage.
Access requires neither a Prime subscription nor a One Medical membership. The standard version carries no fees.
Health AI provides responses about symptoms and pharmaceuticals, interprets laboratory findings and medical documentation, and facilitates prescription refill management. The platform additionally handles appointment scheduling and establishes connections with One Medical clinicians through messaging, video conferencing, or physical visits.
Customers can authorize the platform to retrieve personal medical information, including physician notes, diagnostic records, and test outcomes, via the Health Information Exchange. The system integrates relevant Amazon purchasing data, such as blood pressure devices or nutritional supplements.
Prime Members Get Extra Perks
Qualifying U.S. Prime subscribers receive up to five complimentary direct-message consultations with One Medical clinicians, addressing over 30 medical conditions. The list encompasses cold and flu symptoms, urinary tract infections, allergic reactions, acid reflux, erectile dysfunction, and dermatological concerns. Amazon estimates this benefit at up to $145 in value.
These consultations extend to household members via Amazon Family. Prime for Young Adults and Prime Access subscribers also receive these benefits.
Beyond the promotional offer, individual provider consultations cost $29 through One Medical Pay-per-visit. Annual One Medical membership pricing stands at $99 for Prime subscribers, reduced from the standard $199 rate.
How It Works Under the Hood
Health AI operates through Amazon Bedrock infrastructure. The architecture employs a multi-agent framework where a primary agent conducts patient interactions, while specialized sub-agents execute distinct functions like medication management or appointment coordination. Oversight and monitoring agents supervise exchanges continuously and can transfer cases to human clinicians when circumstances require.
Amazon developed the platform alongside clinical leadership from One Medical. Prior to public release, the medical team evaluated performance through extensive simulated dialogues addressing safety protocols, emergency responses, and regulatory compliance. The company maintains that Health AI must achieve or surpass clinician-level standards on safety-sensitive determinations before deployment.
All communications occur within a HIPAA-compliant framework. Amazon stated that protected health information remains separate from general advertising purposes and customer data never gets sold.
The platform avoids independent diagnosis or treatment plan creation. When medical situations prove complex or demand professional evaluation, the system connects users with qualified providers.
Amazon One Medical maintains partnerships with Rush University System for Health and Cleveland Clinic for specialized care referrals.
Health AI debuted in January 2026 exclusively for One Medical members, generating favorable feedback from patients and medical professionals, according to Amazon.
