Two days ago, I installed the free version of Zone Alarm, and therefore it keeps asking me if I want to allow certain programs to have Internet access. The problem is that I don't know what some of these programs are and do, and Zone Alarm's own "alert advisor" and Microsoft's XP archives are no help. Three that keep popping up are CCD.exe, CFD.exe, and ccApp.exe. My Internet connection is DSL broadband through SBC Yahoo. My default browser is InternetExplorer. Another weird thing is that ever since I installed Zone Alarm, the SBC Connection Manager says that I don't have Internet access and the Web server is unavailable, but in fact my Internet access is working perfectly. Could this erroneous message be related to the fact that I keep denying CCD.exe and CFD.exe access to the Internet every time Zone Alarm asks?

Probably. The thing to do is to deny access the first time. If something fails to work then allow it access the next time it asks and click Always Allow access.
If you right click on the programme in Windows Explorer and click properties it will give you some idea of where the programme came from and what it does,
Zone Alarm is powerful tool. By asking every time a programme wants access it is preventing any phone home trojans from sneaking in.

I suggest downloading Spybot and give it a run.

Both of your comments were very helpful. Allowing CCD.exe access via Zone Alarm did fix the problem with SBC Yahoo's Connection Manager. Thank you!
I discovered computing.net only this morning, and I can already say it's great!
