Still unsure how to remove Zone Alarm. When I try get message: You do not have access to make the required system configuration modification. Please return this installation from an administration account? Only me on this computer.

Try logging in in the safe mode and uninstall it.

You may need to disable ZA's TrueVector service first in the Services Console. It runs under the vsmon.exe process.

The TrueVector service acts as a barrier to malware disabling ZA.
