Since carrying out the latest upgrade on Zone Alarm free antivirus (now ver. 7.0.337.000) I am having a problem checking my e mails. When I open Outlook, the connection is made and my e mails are downloaded into my inbox but before I can open them, I get a window entitled 'Zone Alarm Analyzing Email' window come up that says it is a Junk Mail and Anti-Fraud Filter. It has a progress bar at the bottom of it that doesn't move and a cancel button. Behind this window is another window entitled 'Zone Alarm - Outlook' This window says Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. It includes a box where I can enter text to say what I was doing when the problem occured and then I have an option to 'send' or 'exit'. If I exit, Outlook closes and I can't read my emails. IfI press send, I get asked if I will allow a program to access email addresses stored in outlook. Basically whatever I do here the result is the same...Outlook closes and I can't open my email. I've tried re-installing Zone Alarm with no luck, can anyone help me?
Thanks.

Hi moonunit100,
I don't have the answer to your question but I bet the folks at the Zone Alarm forums could give it a go.
Check out this link: Zone Alarm Forums
Hope this helps.

Phil

Outlook is not the problem. Zone Alarm is the culprit. In my experience, it's more trouble than it's worth, and nearly impossible to uninstall completely without some residual damage. I'd recommend backing up your data and doing a reinstall, completely formatting your OS partition.
Life's more painless for the brainless.
