Hi I have a freshly installed pc it is a Compaq ENS C600 computer and has windows xp sp2 loaded. There is no running programs on startup apart from Zone Alarm. The system startup takes about 1-2 minutes to load Zone Alarm 5.5.062.004 Pro. This problem is on Two Computers with SP2 and I have the same problem when I have Kaspersky loading on startup Does anyone know a fix for this. My conclusion is that its something to do with SP2 slowing down the machine

Zone-Alarm to my knowledge takes a significant amount of time to start up. On my pc it takes a good two minutes and since I have not updated to SP2 (instability/crashes at random - using XP Pro)I am still using the OS w/o any updates and it is still loading slowly.

I'm running Zone Alarm and it only takes a short time to load, maybe 20 seconds. I have 512 Mb, so maybe 256 Mb isn't quite enough. Just a thought.

I ran ZA on my cheapie practice unit with a Duron 1GHz proc. and a cheepie ECS integrated board until I installed PCcillin, but it loaded in about 30 seconds. No problems that I can remember, but I was running 512MB RAM.
