I don't know about winzip and all these other zipprograms because I still use the old fashion PKZIP command from back in windows 3.1 days. It's a little 250kbyte or so EXE file. I put it in the folder containing whatever I want to zip, open a dos box and type:
PKZIP *.* (newfilename.zip)
that's it!

www.rarsoft.com - WinRAR! its the best zip program (will pack and unpack zip rar tar ace etc, with a minimal interface and lots of right clikc zip file options)
